a festival of music and nature
Wood Festival takes place this weekend, the 20th – 22nd May at Braziers Park, near Wallingford, Oxfordshire.
The acts playing on our solar-powered, grass-roofed wooden stage include:
SAM LEE AND FRIENDS, DANNY AND THE CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD,
OWINY SIGOMA BAND and EMILY BARKER
As much as the music, Wood is also defined by the wealth of workshops, activities and talks which are all free for festival-goers of all ages. This year’s selection includes everything from “Build your own solar panel” to “an introduction to shamanic journeying”, as well as all kinds of dance and meditation activities.
In the Kindling tent, hosted by acclaimed nature author Hugh Warwick, hosts talks by exciting speakers including George Monbiot, Kate Raworth, and QI’s Stevyn Colgan. After hours in Kindling you can join in The Acoustic Ballroom’s open mic or dance to our DJs Two In One Sound.
2016 will be the YEAR OF THE RED KITE, our animal of focus! We now have a special animal every year – they join the previously-honoured bees and badgers on our poster. Red kites, medium-sized scavenging birds of prey, were reintroduced to the Chilterns area and can now regularly be seen soaring above the festival site. Better start collecting feathers for your outfit now…
