Wood Festival

Wood is TRUCK’s folkier, younger, cleaner, greener and mysteriously beardier brother. The fourth WOOD festival, celebrating music and nature in the beautiful surroundings of Braziers Park, Oxfordshire will take place on the weekend of May 20th, 21st and 22nd 2011.

Created after the floods of 2007, Wood is a celebration of music and nature. WOOD is amongst Britain’s greenest festivals; in the past year it has received the Gold award from A Greener Festival, the Industry Green 2* award from Julie’s Bicycle (you can read their Case Study on Wood Festival here) and is shortlisted for MusicWeek’s Green Business award. It even won ‘Best Festival’ from The Oldie Magazine! The event runs entirely on renewable energy and aims to highlight green issues and through participation promote an ecologically friendly lifestyle, with composting toilets, showers heated by wood-burning stove and a solar-powered stage. You can even spend your time dancing into the night in a bicycle powered discotheque.

As well as a great line-up of acoustic and organic music, there are opportunities for everyone (from children to grandparents!) to participate in workshops from singing to woodcraft, yoga to making wallets from orange juice cartons, and a fashion dress parade – with plenty of opportunities to learn more and join in our lively lunchtime discussions – see our Programme pages for further details!

The 4th annual WOOD festival will be held at Braziers Park, Oxfordshire on May 20th/21st/22nd May, with places limited to just 800 people to keep it intimate, and create a community for the weekend.

Gates open at 3pm on Friday, May 20th &  on Monday May 24th the campsite must be cleared by Midday.

Workshops will run from 11 am – 1 pm & 3 pm – 5 pm both Saturday and Sunday.

The children’s tent will have activities running all day both Saturday and Sunday.
